Okay, so my question today is:
What is your favorite Sunday/leisure dinner?I grew up in a traditional household where we ate dinner every night as a family at 6:00 sharp. On Sundays, we'd have roast, potatoes and several sidedishes. During the summer, most of the sidedishes were from the garden, complete with a few grains of dirt in the lettuce.
This past Sunday, I cooked a roast, made mashed potatoes and rolls (my kids would say THEY made them), and we had corn on the cob, carrots, and I actually made a dessert (shocking). It was great. It took hours and hours, and tons of dishes and pans, and basically the preparation and clean-up consumed the whole day (put the roast in the crock pot at 8:00 a.m. and had the kitchen finally clean about 5:00 p.m.). The eating part? Maybe 20 minutes. But crazy as it sounds, I'll probably do it next Sunday and the one after that . . .
